Powered by MathXL (Pearson's online homework, tutorial, and assessment system), MyFoundationsLab gives instructors the tools they need to deliver all or a portion of their course online, whether their students are in a lab setting or working from home.
MyFoundationsLab provides a rich and flexible set of course materials, featuring free-response exercises that instructors can assign for online activities and assessments. MyReadinessTest is a powerful online system designed for placement and diagnostic testing. The program offers one flexible environment to assess specific skills in reading, writing, and math. With MyReadinessTest schools have immediate access and insight into areas of proficiency and weakness for the cohort as well as for each individual student. MyReadinessTest programs are based on testbanks that assess students’ skills at the developmental math level or the pre-calculus level. The values in questions are algorithmic (they change each time a student accesses the question). The math question bank includes both multiple-choice and free-response questions.

MyReadingLab is an online application that combines diagnostics, practice exercises, tests and powerful assessment to help improve student reading skills and reading level. Reading skills are improved through a mastery-based format of practice exercises. Exercises include objective-based questions, open-ended questions, short answer questions, combined skills exercises and more. The reading level is assessed through the Lexile framework (www.lexile.com), the most widely adopted reading measure in use today. The Lexile Framework measures both reader ability and text difficulty on the same scale, called the Lexile scale. Based on a carefully developed diagnostic, students are assigned an initial Lexile number. Then, using a combination of “cloze” questions ( taking and passing a cloze exercise is dependent on a person's ability to utilize context and knowledge of vocabulary in order to identify the correct words that belong in deleted passages of a text) and combined skills exercises, MyReadingLab allows students to increase their Lexile number and realize their progress over time. This approach allows instructors to manage reading comprehension and encourage reader progress using MyReadingLab. Combining reading skills and reading level measurement results in a personalized study plan for each student and quantifiable data that help instructors measure individual student progress.

MyWritingLab is a complete online learning program providing better practice exercises to developing writers through diagnostic testing, progressive learning, and an online gradebook. MyWritingLab's diagnostic test comprehensively assesses student skills in grammar. Students are given an individualized learning path based on the diagnostic's results, identifying the modules in areas where they most need help. The heart of MyWritingLab is the progressive learning that takes place as students complete the Recall, Apply and Write exercises within each module. Students move from literal comprehension (Recall) to critical comprehension (Apply) to demonstrating concepts to their own writing (Write). This progression of critical thinking, not available in any other online resource, enables students to truly master the skills and concepts they need to become successful writers. All student work in MyWritingLab is captured in the Online Gradebook. Students can monitor their own progress through reports detailing scores on all of the exercises in the course.
