The XL MyLabs December 2012 upgrade will take place Friday, December 28, 5:30 AM EST to 12:00 PM EST (Friday, 28 December, 10:30 to 17:00 GMT). Write Drafting activities are a new activity type that allows students to write responses to pre-assigned, publisher-created prompts and submit their responses to their instructor (up to 10 times) for grading and feedback.

As you are likely aware, this summer we have some fabulous new changes coming to MyFoundationsLab. Please see below for more details about the great new features that are coming. The release is scheduled for Saturday, July 14th. Please do not schedule any tests or other assignments during this time.

New Content in MyFoundationsLab

If you want access to the new content in MyFoundationsLab--especially to try out a course with the Lexiles--then you need to copy a 'new' course in your account. When you do that, you will get all the new features and the new content. And if you need to, you can import assignments from the prior semester, as well as results (assuming that the students have enrolled in your new course and that the 'old' and 'new' assignments have matching content). Let us know what you think of these new lexiles!

Sample Path Builders Now Available!

In the basic MyFoundationsLab courses, we provide Path Builder diagnostics for reading, writing, and math. Now, we have additional sample Path Builders that focus on skills students need for particular tests such as TABE, COMPASS, PERT and THEA--and there are more sample Path Builders coming! You can assign one of these new sample Path Builders to maximize the effectiveness of your program.

To assign one of these new Path Builders, go to the Activities/Assessment Manager and select "Quizzes & Tests" from the filter at the top.

As of Monday, June 27, there will be a host of new features in MyFoundationsLab including:

Mastery Status in the Gradebook
A new summary display of student Mastery status will be available by module or by topic, and also available in Quick Exports. Activities and topic assessments in topics that were mastered on the assessments will be marked with an M. Educators will be able to update the mastery status for specific objectives, topics, or modules per student as well.
